Trend Spotting: Spring Necklaces

she breathes necklace little lucia
Allow me to play trend forecaster for spring/summer.  Creative layering with funky statement jewels.  Ladies, I urge you to plunder your mom's jewelry boxes and your own if you were a child of the 70s or 80s.  If you haven't already air-kissed that statement necklace goodbye, toss it in a pile in the back of your closet and embrace the freedom to layer aimlessly.  Pick a neutral backdrop like a crisp, white shirt tucked into high waisted trousers or mega flare jeans.  If you're artistically inclined, try DIY: draw whimsical inspiration from your childhood and pair it with glam.  Wear it confidently and you really can't go wrong.

Birkin?

Thursday_Friday-red_front_large
If it looks like a Birkin...
These $35, unapologetically non-Hermès bags by Thursday Friday have me smitten as a kitten...purrrrrr. While you may wait 5 years to get your hands on the real thing, you'll also be out over $10K, and really, who's spending like that these days? Every single color is on back order until late February so get your name on their list now & have it for your mid-winter jaunt to the islands. And for the price of one authentic Birkin, you can buy 285.7 of these.  You do the math.

Shop NBC

beautyfile
There’s just something about gold jewelry that makes my heart beat a little faster. Perhaps it’s the way it complements any outfit and instantly gives it a touch of class.  Vintage or brand new, I absolutely love it. I found these pieces in the gold jewelry section of ShopNBC while I was browsing the web for some holiday shopping. The site is very easy to navigate and they prices are pretty great. I especially love the gold diamond studded hoops! They’re absolutely stunning and something I’d wear all the time.  Still on the hunt for presents for my family, but I've got my eye on these pretty little things...

What are we all buying for friends and families this year, lovelies?

Jewels by Lara Melchior

I came across jewelry designer, Lara Melchior via Garance's blog & was totally in love with her effortless beauty. I quickly hopped on over to her website & found myself drooling over her pieces. With the holidays are coming up, why not choose your presents early and get what you want?
I'd take ANYTHING from her collection, it's just stunning.
I picked my faves and here they are in no particular order (hint, hint!):
ring {18k gold + bling}
I also love the way the gold looks against the solid black background.
So dramatic!

I don't know about you, but when my supplies are pretty, working becomes much less of a chore. Let's ban boring supplies + replace them with the works of art seen here:

Back-to-School Bag Love {on the cheap!}

One of my favorite things about being a student again is buying a new school bag come Fall. While the Chloe bag pictured above is beyond gorgeous and certainly something I wouldn't throw out of bed, the hefty price tag is nowhere in my student, soon-to-be-mom budget. However, after browsing the Feather Report this morning, I stumbled upon a bag from Urban Outfitters that I love {see below}. As I browsed their page, I continued to discover many other bags, all under $100...ffffffabulous!
Bdg, $58
Ecote, $68 {backpacks are back!}
Bdg, $58
Deena & Ozzy, $58
Kimchi Blue, $58
Pink Studio, $78
Ecote, $58 {not exactly a school bag, but adorable!}

All available at Urban Outfitters, here.

Got iPad?

Just spotted this in Luxirare's shop and realized why I need to get an iPad, stat.
Her how-to blog post and video are mind blowing and the ultra sleek, minimalist design is throwing me into an iPad bag induced coma. It functions dually as a fabulous handbag with a storage area for the device. The clear screen enables you to use the iPad without taking it out of its compartment.
100% Calf hide + leather, $1,200.
Go big or go home...woot, woot!
