Duck, Duck, GOOSE!

zanna-roberts-rassi1
You know how you love to people watch? So do I.
You ever find yourself loving a look, but knowing that you could never pull it off? The frayed white button down, layered under the navel revealing sweater, underneath the grey blazer. The chambray top worn with the busy, print skirt, accompanied by the animal print shoes. This is definitely a case of "I appreciate your effort and you look great, but..."
{I could never wear that}

Bright Mango

Mango2011Spring5
Now that we've firmly established that BRIGHTS are undoubtedly the hottest trend of the season, you may be wondering how you'll fit them into your wardrobe.  Look no further.  The Mango Spring lookbook provides inspiration for the color phobic.  I for one am a neutrals kinda girl; my go to is black pants, neutral top & some kind of fun accessory.  Seen here, the stylists at Mango incorporated all sorts of accessories: the bright belt, the stacked bracelets, the saddle bag {in orange, of course}, the baseball hat & mitt.  My favorite has to be the bun-worn-as-crown & the giant sailboat.  You?

Massimo Dutti Lookbook Spring 2011

massimo16
This lookbook demonstrates EXACTLY what I want for spring: crisp, clean neutrals with understated pops of color {RED} in a preppie hippie kind of style.  I also love the nautical stripes in red and the lace skirt paired with the cable knit, leather elbow sweater.  I know there's a name for that sweater, but I haven't a clue what it is.  "Man smoking a pipe, watching MasterpieceTheater" sweater?

I'm beyond excited that Spring has finally reared it's glorious head in New York.  The cold weather just gets exhausting after awhile.  Today, the baby and I are going for a hike around a park with my mom and grabbing some sushi.  Tomorrow I've scheduled a cut+color because my hair is the LONGEST and the brassiest it's ever been {in the history of hair}.  Sunday is my brother's 27th birthday and we're celebrating with brunch.  HAPPY BIRTHDAY ADAM {or "boychick" as my mom would say}.

What are you doing?
Have a lovely one, whatever's on your calendar!

Fendi Spring 2011 RTW: Revisited

00590m
I was just browsing through the new SAKS catalog, an awesome resource for seasonal trends from all the designers. As I flipped through the pages I suddenly panicked. I quickly realized that I totally neglected Karl Lagerfeld's spring collection for Fendi, both on the blog & in my life. I blame the baby: he was born smack in the middle of the Fall 2010 presentations. The look is fun, it's bright, it's happy, it's light- did I mention I'm Dr. Seuss?  Some have compared it to Margot Hemingway's Studio 54 days, but I think it's for the Italian woman on holiday, preferably on some Riviera. Let's do a cliff notes takeaway for spring:
1. Brights
2. Color blocking
3. Brights
4. Color blocking

Are we good?

I especially love this last print.  Oh and the pin straight hair with the side part.  And the lipstick.  Bags, too.

Trending Topic: #FullSkirts

84d0aed6732d2b88_Full-Skirts
In a welcome break from the all too body conscious skirts of yesteryear, the new skirts for spring are full, fun and quite fabulous.  You all remember the circle skirts with the Mad Men silhouette by Marc Jacobs for Louis Vuitton last year {if not, check it out here but do come right back}.  I wouldn't mind making room for these in my ever shrinking closet:
tulsi tea skirt modcloth 59.99
{Modcloth, $59.99}
f 21 24.80
{forever 21, $24.80}
59 urban
{urban outfitters, $59}
almost famous skirt planet blue 154
{planet blue, $154}
thing.27613883.l
{top shop, $80}
the missing piece bcbg 48
{bcbg, the missing piece online, $48}
*readers can use the code FRIEND for a 10% discount sitewide at the missing piece!*

So keep on carb loading this winter, ladies.  We all know you want to.  These full skirts have a strict "don't ask, don't tell policy."  And we won't.

Animal Behavior

Last year, I fell head over heels for the Steven Sprouse for Louis Vuitton stole.
However, its price tag was prohibitive so I quickly forgot about it.
My dears, I have excellent news for any of you who shared in this love!
I just spotted a fantastic spring tote by LV collaborator, Marc Jacobs.
It's totes reminiscent of the scarf that stole my heart, but a fraction of the price.
The canvas bag is just what I need for the warmer months at work, the beach, grabbing ice cream or just sitting under a tree waiting to feel my boy kick...
