This song explains why I'm leaving home to become a stewardess...

How old are you?
Eighteen.
Me too! How old are we really?
Seventeen.
Me too!
Actually, I'm sixteen.
Me too. Isn't it funny? The truth just sounds different.
I'm fifteen.

NY Times Thursday Stylin' {Olsens as Cover Girls}

This morning, I picked up the NY Times and found the twins on the cover of the Style section. Cathy Horyn wrote an insightful & interesting article on "the magical millionaire pixies" {one blogger's name for them} & I thought I should share. I never had any strong feelings for or against them, but I absolutely LOVE their lines, especially Elizabeth & James.

Here's the article. Go check it out, & let me know your thoughts on them. Have you changed your mind over the past few years with the emergence of their beautiful lines? Just curio....

Here's a video I found from 2007, featuring Ashley's line, The Row, pretty creatively. Enjoy & do have a lovely day!

Anna Wintour is True Recessionista, Advises Trip to Queens

Last night, as we all probably know, Anna Wintour paid David Letterman a visit. In less than ten minutes, she insulted his socks, told him that she might put him in a headlock & revealed her solution to dressing fashionably during rough economic times. "Head to Macy's....in Queens" {said however, with complete disdain & obvious disgust}. She used the opportunity to mention that she will be visiting Macy's in Queens {note: there's definitely more than one Macy's in the borough} for her upcoming event, "Fashion's Night Out" on 09/10/09 {more info on FNO click here}.

I decided to take her sage advice and browse on over to Macy's.com. If it's good enough for Anna, it's good enough for us.

Look 1:
(a+b)
(a) Rachel Rachel Roy, dress, $109
(b) guess bootie, $129

Look 2:
(c+d)
(c) calvin klein dress, $129
(d) alfani shoes, $89

Looks 3,4,5:
(any combo of e - i)
(e) inc embellished tank, $59
(f) bcbg poet top, $78
(g) michael kors ruffle top $79.50
(h) inc tight black pants w/ buttons $49.99
(i) michael kors black zipper sandal, $185

And finally, here's a short snippet from what people have dubbed, "Dave's interview with Hannibal Lecter." She really did quite well. She defended herself against claims that she is the devil {"Devil Wears Prada was a work of fiction...we like fiction at VOGUE"} & she actually cracked a {half} smile, every couple of minutes. As the Daily News reported, "She probably did at least as well on Letterman's couch as Dave would have done on a fashion runway."
Touché!

Miss Venezuela Wins Miss Universe, Heidi Montag "Performs"

Since the majority of you will not have seen this {semi-entertaining, yet truly awkward} "awards" show, here's a quick recap. I won't even bother explaining why I watched this competition, but to cut to the chase, I did. In a few words, the Miss Universe pageant is kind of a complete disaster. Overall, I felt like I was watching a pretty lame MTV Music Awards that had OD'd on Aquanet.

Some highlights included:

The multitalented Flo Rida doubles as a judge,
scoping out contestants on stage...mid-performance.
The Donald slyly steals air time & looks surprisingly smug.

Probably most intriguing was their choice for an opening number. Not sure how they came to Heidi Montag, but I'm thinking the recession played a driving force.

Luckily, I tuned in at just the right spot. Heids had just taken the stage with her entourage. I still haven't been able to come up with the right words to describe her performance. However, the whole thing left me feeling so uncomfortable. I apologize in advance for wasting two minutes of of your lives.
{you...just...have...to...watch...}

p.s. Since so many of you feel so strongly against H. Pratt, please feel free to use the comment space to vent your frustrations concerning the wrongs of reality tv & all things SPEIDI.
Peace.
