Hypnotic Hermès

Hermès really brought it this season for their spring 2011 rtw show. And by brought it, I mean killed it. By killed it, well, you know. The details are astoundingly beautiful, almost devastating. I've been drooling over these photos since I spotted them a few days ago. I can't take all the leather, the earrings, the hats. I'm lit-relly DYING over the braid + black tie combo, teeny weeny Birkin charm bracelet {um, hello?} & all the gorgeous cuffs.

Is it the most wearable collection?
Certainly not...but tell me you're not feeling a tad bit faint?

Country Girl

 While I grew up in the outskirts of New York City, I consider myself to be a country girl. I'm far from milking cows or tending to chickens, but I certainly feel most comfortable in a big, warm sweater & worn-in boots. Not to mention, there's nothing in the world like a cup of hot apple cider or a pear crisp made from local fruit. I saw this editorial & immediately saw Dree Hemingway as a kindred soul. I'd love to bundle up and travel to Idaho or Montana. The air there looks so refreshing & cleansing.

6 weeks...

 I can't believe 6 weeks have already gone by.

They've been the most incredible weeks of my life.

He's smiling and laughing and I swear, he sometimes sounds like he's chirping.

His favorite album: Kenny Loggins, Return to Pooh Corner

His favorite toy: Ellie the elephant

His favorite outfits: "Brannan's favorites" from baby Gap

It's taken me awhile to get used to the sleeping schedule, but I've learned to nap a bit during the day.  I've lost 35 pounds already, thank you breast feeding, and have about 17 left.  We love to bundle up, take walks around the neighborhood with the dog and gaze quietly up at the bright leaves on the trees.  We're starting mommy + me yoga soon and are considering a music class.

I think it's amazing what happens once you have a child of your own.  You finally start to appreciate everything your parents did for you and if you're really lucky, what they continue to do for you and your son.  We have an incredibly loving family and I am so thankful for that.
