Snapped! At Rebecca Minkoff

IMG_2355

This is a little late, but I had to share.  I took this photo (with Meg's camera) at the Rebecca Minkoff show during New York Fashion Week, last month.  I am by no stretch of the imagination a photographer, but love this shot so much!  Considering I was taking these photos with the camera raised above my head, I thought it came out pretty good.  I love her hair falling ever so gracefully upon her fur covered trench.  Because everyone needs a fur covered trench.  It was such a great show, Sean Lennon played live with the gorgeous Charlotte Kemp Muhl.  Happy Tuesday {if that's possible}!

Also, if you're a major fashion enthusiast, you will be THRILLED to learn of the latest addition to the "I Want to be a Roitfeld" "I Want to be an Alt" family....announcing, "I Want to be a Battaglia!!"  I suggest checking out all three today, because they are fabulous and will make you feel fabulous.  Who wouldn't want to be one of these chic ladies?  Personally, I love Julia Restoin-Roitfeld & Giovanna Battaglia's styles best.  How about you?

OH and how could I possibly forget about THE BACHELOR!!??  Was everyone happy with Brad's decision to become a husband AND a father?  I'm thrilled.  I really liked Emily and Ricky is just adorable.  I felt terrible for Chantal, but you know, "I really like you, Chantal, I really, really, really do.  But I have stronger feelings for someone else" - you can't tell me you didn't see that coming.  Although I totally thought he was picking Chantal midway through the episode.  Those damn ABC producers, so sly and tricky.  I hope Bremicky lasts...

Behind the Scenes Beauty: Jason Wu Fall 2011

IMG_5452n
There's nothing like fashion week to bring out the glamour. Jason Wu's aesthetic was modeled after "An evening at Versailles" and was marked by true opulence and elegance. With 24-karat gold leaf in their hair and sensual smoky eyes, I doubt Louis XIV would have kicked any of these ladies outta bed.

Brown Lips?

Chocolate hued lips were seen on the PYT at Rodarte and Suno. Lovelies, I’m going to level with you. I’m not sure if this is the most wearable or flattering look. Makeup, at its best, accentuates your greatest attributes and makes you look pretty, sexy, or dramatic. At its worst, it makes you look tired, washed out and dare I say it…old. Therefore, I’m not a fan of brown lips; I think it’s a tough color to pull off for most. I also think it makes teeth look yellow and dingy. Yellowed teeth are not exactly a youthful look. I like the pretty, stained lip look I get from eating a cherry Popsicle, not a Fudgesicle. I prefer to rock browns, in all its colors and variations, on my eyes. A brown smoky eye will never go out of style, whereas fashion week trends come and go. For me personally, this is one runway inspired trend I will be sitting out.

What about you, would you rock it?

NY Fashion Week: Marchesa

Hi, everyone! This is Better Off Med guest blogging for Lisi while she spends time with her beautiful new baby! Of all the numerous shows presented at Fashion Week, Georgina Chapman and Keren Craig's beautiful collaboration behind the brand Marchesa is always one I look forward to the most. With exquisite details and dramatic silhouettes, it's no wonder that stars clamor for these creations red carpet season after red carpet season.

Can't you see Anne Hathaway turning heads in this number?

Diane Kruger is fashion forward enough for this ensemble.

Cate Blanchett would knock 'em dead in this stunning gown.

I'll take this one for myself, thankyouverymuch!

I love this regal purple color.

The details on this gown are breathtaking.
Is this a hit or miss collection for you?
Which gowns are you lusting after?

Let me know!

J'adore Miss Nanette Lepore

Nanette Lepore is my go-to line for romantic elegance.  This season Nanette brings us yet another collection of glamorous pieces and I want to wear them ALL. I'm smitten by the mixture of velvet, leather and classic colors with understated designs. Looking at this line, I feel like I'd have a lot of FUN wearing it...but for now, we must admire from afar.  My faves are #2 & #4. How 'bout you?

Milly Fall 2010: Parlez-vous français?

Milly has been one of my personal faves for awhile. This season, designer Michelle Smith brings us a collection filled with Parisian whimsical charm. Side ponytails, berets, brightly colored tights coupled with classic, wearable pieces in a style unique to those fabulous French women. The Chanel inspired suits paired with charming gloves and patent Mary Janes scream, "Wear me while cruising down the Champs Elysees, with a Chanel flap 2.55!" Even if you won't be travelling to Paris soon, you will certainly exude the look in this collection.

Michael Kors, I DESIRE You!

If you're not already on the neutral train, you had better get your act together by Fall. It looks like there's a new sheriff in town who's laying down the classic look as law. I'm personally a HUGE fan of browns, taupes, greys & all things neutral. Mr. Kors, you're driving me insane with this mix of leather, cashmere & fur.

Me-owwwwwww.
If anyone in the Kors camp happens to stumble upon this blog, I'll just take the entire collection...sent straight to my house.  Thanks!
