{Sofia + LV = l o v e l o c k d o w n}

When Sofia Coppola teamed up with Team Vuitton to create her ideal handbag, the sparks flew.
Although her list of requirements was not long, it was quite specific:

The end result?
A perfect day bag in magnificent hues:
dark grey suede, burgundy and blue calf leather & the monogram canvas.

"Sofia" was already used by Marc Jacobs so Vuitton went with, "SC" for the new duffle.
With two luxury handbag namesakes in one short lifetime, I must inquire:
who would like to be a Coppola?

Wouldn't you love to spend an afternoon rummaging through a tray of Louis Vuitton hardware?

Lovely blogger/artist, Garance Dore, recently scored herself a blue one and is understandably smitten.
She blogged about the top 10 reasons to love her new LV and drew this delightful sketch.
Bag lovers beware, you may soon discover a slew of new reasons to worship and perhaps purchase more handbags.
#7 struck a familiar chord with me:
"It's lined entirely in pearl grey suede. I get the urge to sleep in it."

So... I know everyone is probably going to pick a female. But while he was living, I would have chosen Paul Newman (who could've tapped his beautiful wife on the shoulder for direction if he needed it). I know the bag would have turned out simple, understated and sensible (like me) and without a doubt, any proceeds he made would have been given to charity, and that would make me happy.

If I could have a celeb design a bag for me it'd be SJP for sure- she has such a unique, chic, but whimsical sense of style. I am sure she'd design something fabulous and practical at the same time. She has an eye for what's the best of the best.

it is so beautiful....she was a perfect choice. Of people alive, I guess it would have to be someone whose style I really admire...maybe Zooey Deschanel or Angelina Jolie or the stylist for gossip girl! OOOOOh, or dita von teese!

i have a lovely gray rachel nasvik doctor bag that i adore that's very similar, but, you know, someday i would very much like to splurge on the SC bag. it really is the perfect day bag! and i love that it doesn't have crazy logos all over. very impressive considering this is LV. ;)
