Oscars 2011

{Best outfit change: Anne in Oscar de la Renta}
Was up WAY too late watching the Oscars and do not have much time to post this morning.  Wanted to check in and see what you thought of the show last night...I was definitely underwhelmed, amused at times, but generally bored, sometimes left feeling pretty awkward.  I miss the days when the Oscars were super classy and getting an award felt less like an MTV award!  I did love Anne Hathaway's dresses {there were either 7 or 8} and while I didn't love the overall repartee between the hosts, her ease on stage made it worthwhile.  Franco's quirkiness threw me through a loop.  Here are some faves from last night.
natalieportman002
{Best bump covering: Natalie in Rodarte...I LOVED her speech, "Benjamin, my love."}
gwynethpaltrow002
{Most tweeted dress: Gwyn in Calvin Klein Collection- love or hate?}

{Most glamorous overall: Jennifer Lawrence in Calvin Klein Collection}

Thoughts on this year's show?  Celine Dion singing during the deaths?  Oprah's boobs?  James Franco as Marilyn?  Billy Crystal should have taken over?  Mila & Justin for Oscar hosts in 2012?

Natalie looks phenomenal. One of the best pregnancy styles ever - chic, gorgeous and oh so Natalie. Happy for her!

I was surprisingly unimpressed with the wardrobe last night...it was a bit of a snooze. But Paltrow and Hathaway were stunners.

Sandra Bullock rocked in her red dress and I particularlly loved the marchesa dress made for the girl from True Grit who was up for best supporting.

The acceptance speeches were overall terrible especially the Leo woman who had no clue what to say.

Other than that it was a fairly predictible night, totally knew Firth and Portman were gonna win as well as The King's Speech.

I love Anne Hathaway anyway though and I'm pretty sure Franco was high through the whole thing.

Everything Anne wore was gorgeous! Definitely the best dressed of the night.

I totally agree with you about the Oscars. The show is not what it used to be and every year it's so frustrating.

i loved the fringy dress the best too! anne did the best she could with james dragging her down. didn't like gwyneth's dress or her singing (yikes) loved natalie and her speech. thought melissa leo was hilarious and a breath of fresh air. not the glamorous show it once was but entertaining none-the-less.
