That Thing

the fashionist black
There is such an incredible skill behind street photography. I recently watched the Scott Schuman video and found it totally intoxicating. It can be seen here. The man behind the camera said:

You never know what it is, that thing that draws you to that person. It seems odd, but it's almost like going out there and letting yourself fall in love a little bit everyday, be seduced everyday.

Oh, "that thing." That magical, irresistible thing. Also, the idea of "falling in love" with a person for a split second, long enough to snap a photo and walk away. Isn't that so poetic & romantic? The man's such a genius. I think one of my favorite parts of blogging is the idea that from your computer, wherever you are in the world, you now have access into the minds of millions of others, everywhere. Access to their creativity, humor, wit & intelligence. Their fashions, tastes & individuality. What differentiates someone from someone else. Incredible.

Because the internet, is the world shrinking? Are we all becoming too homogenized? Milan hasn't changed, Paris hasn't changed, New York hasn't changed. So I don't think it's really homogenized anything, but I do think it's given us what I like to call a digital park bench...before you were really limited to the people you could see right there at your park...really, the whole world's open to you now.

And isn't that just amazing?
