Exploring Artic Alaskan Apparel with Deb Oh

AHOY! I've journeyed far and wide -- all the way from The Debonaire -- to guest-blog for a fabulous fellow New Yorker, The Beauty File.

I'm spending a few weeks in my home state of Alaska, where - as you can imagine - I dress a little differently than when I'm in NYC. And by 'differently,' I mean waddle around in layers of unflattering down jackets and long johns (and from the looks of it, I'm not alone in this warmth-over-style mindset). But this time, I'm determined to look more presentable--nay, look positively RADIANT--despite the arctic conditions. Here's how:

Base layer: These Uniqlo Heattech leggings and shirts are no joke - I'm obsessed with mine. Lightweight, and seriously warm.

Vest: I've always been a Patagonia girl - this Retro-X vest should do the trick.

Pants: Monroe wool goldy pant from J.Crew - over the Heattech leggings, and tucked into boots, these pants (made from Italian wool) can help battle the unflattering, yet sometimes inevitable Michelin-Man silhouette.

Footwear: L.L.Bean 10" Shearling-lined boots. Warm, weather-proof, classic.

Bag: Pendleton Dopp Bag. Totally functional, and totally gorgeous.

To top it all off, some hats, gloves, scarves, and socks.

And off you go! Into the mountainous terrain (or to the nearest drive-thru Starbucks), snug as a bug in a rug, looking positively radiant.

You really do have a great blog here. I have a blog myself which brings inspiration and guidance to people all around the world. Life is hard enough, and I hope my site can contribute anything positive to someone's day.

I'd like to exchange links with you to help spread some traffic around between each other. Please let me know if this is possible. Until then, keep up the good work.
